After interviewing four different Architectural firms...from Minnesota to Wisconsin, Norden Folk's Building & Grounds committe selected the Architectural Design Group of Menomonie Wisconsin.  Coming to a decision was difficult because of the superlative qualifications of all the candidates.  Now comes the difficult part: developing a design plan that will not conflict with the original Alvar Alto concept, in the event our organization still wishes to go forward with that plan, some time in the future.  Our first building must make an absolute statement about the "Scandinavianness" of our organization.  It must announce it to all comers, be welcoming and open to everyone: adults and children, Scandinavians and people of other cultures.
Walking the bluff...seeking just the right spot
Trying to decide...differing opinions

With Architectural Design Groups's architect Tim Peterson, members of the Building and Grownds committee walked the wooded site in Dunn County, trying to determine some optimum locations for the site of Norden Folk's first building.

With nearly 70 acres of prime oak and mixed hardwoods bluff-land to locate upon, the choice isn't easy; everyone has a different idea of our organization's future needs.  And...what is Scandinavian style, anyway?

These are just some of the "opportunities" architect Tim Peterson will have to sort out for our group, in hopes of developing the first conceptual designs and color presentation drawings suitable for our fall, fund raising event.
