More Scandinavian Delights...a Julgransbranning

What...you missed our Julgransbranning?

We can give you a sense of the sound of accordions, fiddles, nyckleharpa---or the swish and whirl of skirts as we played and danced away the evening the shy smiles of adults, who...aren't dancers...when we gently pulled them into the long dance.  But they proved themselves wrong...they could dance, after all.  And they did enjoy themselves.

When we ignited that LARGE pile of discarded Christmas trees---just as the Lucia procession reached the windows---the room exploded with "oooouuusssss..." of surprise.

Need we speak about the tasty assortment of snacks and other Scandinavian foods?  We enjoyed several varieties of pepparkaka (ginger cookies), genuine filmjölk or tjöckmjölk (thick-milk), bullbröd (flat bread), ingladsil (pickled herring)  and of course coffee, hot chocolate and cider.

I hope, by now, you're a little sorry you didn't come.  But stay in contact---or, better yet join us---we'll have more events coming in the year.
